In the forbidding and noisy midst of an industrial zone, right beside a heavily trafficked road we tried to generate the best possible living conditions by creating a sort of “work-oasis”. The program: 5000m2 of effective office space for administration and private client counselling. For possible further uses of the premises a high neutrality in utilization as well as a very flexible layout with independently rentable
(sub-) areas was necessary.
Two use-optimized elevated building structures measuring about 16 / 30m are positioned at right angles to the street. They are connected by bridges on every level of the building and encased in a glass-shell. The double-façade has been moved forward by 60cm and serves as sound insulation and thermal buffer as well as accommodating the external sun-blinds and allowing for natural room ventilation. In between the two building structures you’ll find two generous atria, the main staircase and the elevator. The ship’s deck flooring conveys a feeling of holiday throughout the daily work routine.
